ActaLedger uses the Polygon Network blockchain to register and verify documents. To use blockchain registration features, you will need a compatible digital wallet. A wallet allows you to securely authorize blockchain transactions and maintain control over your digital identity.
MetaMask is a widely used digital wallet available as a browser extension and mobile application. It allows you to connect to blockchain networks, sign transactions, and manage digital assets. ActaLedger supports MetaMask for blockchain-based document registration.

Download and install MetaMask from the official website. MetaMask installs as browser extension and is available for major browsers such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Brave, as well as Android and iPhone devices.
Follow the MetaMask instructions to create a new wallet. During setup, MetaMask will provide a Secret Recovery Phrase. This phrase is the master key to your wallet.
Important: Write down your Secret Recovery Phrase and keep it in a secure place. Never share it with anyone. ActaLedger will never ask for your Secret Recovery Phrase, private keys, or wallet password.
Blockchain transactions require a small amount of POL coins, the native token of the Polygon network. POL is used to pay network transaction fees. A small amount is sufficient for many document registrations.
Important: When receiving POL coins, make sure your Metamask is connected to the Polygon Network and you use your correct Polygon wallet address. Metamask hosts many other cryptocurrencies, so when interacting with ActaLedger, make sure the Polygon is selected.
You can buy POL at Metamask. POL may also be obtained from cryptocurrency exchanges, friends, colleagues, or other wallet holders willing to transfer a small amount to your wallet address.
Once your wallet is ready, return to ActaLedger and select Wallet Registration. The system will ask permission to connect to your MetaMask wallet. Approve the request within MetaMask to continue.
ActaLedger only receives your public wallet address. Your private keys remain under your control and are never transmitted to ActaLedger.
Wallet registration allows you to interact directly with the Polygon blockchain. You remain in control of your wallet and transaction approvals while benefiting from decentralized and independently verifiable document registration.
